ASHCLIFFE is a private clinical psychology practice offering a broad range of psychological services.The Ashcliffe practice is comprised of two principal psychologists (Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly and Michael Tunnecliffe), plus a team of affiliate psychologists offering a variety of areas of expertise. Kerryn and Michael have between them more than 50 years of clinical experience and both have worked in senior management roles within government, non-government agencies and the private sector The Ashcliffe team have extensive training in various treatment modalities achieved within Australia and Internationally. As a result, Ashcliffe provides a range of highly specialized psychological assessments and treatment approaches.

Michael Tunnecliffe

BA(Hons), MAppPsych(Clinical), Dip.Crisis Intervention

Clinical Psychologist and Director of Ashcliffe Psychology.  Michael has more than 30 years experience in Clinical and Senior Management positions.  He has held senior positions in both government and non-government agencies. Michael oversees the co-ordination and supervision of Ashcliffe Staff as well as Clinical Director of the Matrix Program, Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment.  Michael is US trained to Supervisor level in the Matrix addiction treatment model and his work now solely focuses on Matrix Program intake and adherence to the clinical principles of practice.



Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly

BA(Hons), MPsych(Clinical), Dip.Clinical Hypnosis, Dip Transpersonal Counselling

Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly is a Clinical Psychologist who works in clinical practice at Ashcliffe Psychology. Kerryn has extensive experience working with alcohol and drug issues, critical incident response, domestic violence, PTSD and trauma. Her expertise includes counselling, group facilitation, workshops, training and consultancy. In her clinical practice Kerryn is a depth psychologist employing existential theories alongside evidence based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Cognitive Therapies.  Kerryn has presented at conferences and delivered training to organsations in team based personality issues, mental health, fatigue, alcohol and drugs, supervisor support, and various other custom designed packages to meet client organisation needs. She also runs personal development workshops on The Enneagram, Reflective Practice, Dream work, Mindfulness and Emotional processing. Kerryn is a former Police Psychologist with considerable experience in PTSD and Critical Incident Response planning, implementation and debriefing. She is also Supervisor trained and provider of the Matrix Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program.

Melissa Burns

B.Psych, Dip. Education (School Psychology), Grad Cert. Educational & Developmental Psychology

Melissa has a strong background working with children and adolescents in education, private and disability sectors, and working with families to promote resilience and connectedness. She is trained to deliver the teen Triple P program, the positive parenting program for parents of adolescents. Melissa also works with adults and couples to manage relationship issues, mental disorders such as anxiety and depression, and general concerns affecting emotional and mental health and wellbeing. Her treatment approaches utilise the evidence-based cognitive behavioural framework to work towards the individual’s needs and goals, and includes Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, EMDR and Schema Therapy. Melissa is available at our West Perth office Wednesday’s and Friday’s by appointment only.

Lisa Lemme

B.Psych (Hons), MPsych

Lisa’s background includes working with substance abuse, trauma, and mental health issues including anxiety and depression. In particular, Lisa has extensive experience working with young adults struggling with anxiety and depression resulting from childhood trauma. She has an eclectic and flexible approach, utilising cognitive behavioural therapies, solution focused approaches and mindfulness interventions. Lisa has a client centred, warm and empathic approach, which allows her to work effectively with a wide range of clients. Lisa is available at our Applecross office.
